Richard’s Impreza WRX Club Spec Evo 4

The owner and the car

Richard bought his Club Spec Evo 4 in 2008. It became his first serious tuner project, moving from daily transport into entry-level track driving.

The work behind it

Two engine failures did not end the relationship. The Artisan Ape story describes an owner who valued the work, mistakes and repairs that had made this particular Impreza his own.

What went into it

The published setup pairs an EJ207 stroked to 2.2 liters with a VF34 turbo and MoTeC M130 management. An STI six-speed without DCCD and an R180 differential handle the drivetrain.

MCA Red suspension, Brembo brakes, 17-inch BBS wheels and Yokohama AD08R tires sit alongside Recaro Pole Position seats. The aim was to improve the original idea while keeping the car’s character.

Where it stands

This is the car as documented in Artisan Ape’s 2020 feature. Its current specification has not been confirmed. Story: Kelvin / Artisan Ape. Images retain their Artisan Ape and FMZ Visuals credits.
