Your Impreza project does not have to be finished

Jamie Flett’s long-running Type R project is a reminder that the work in progress can be worth sharing too.

Share the work in progress

Not every interesting Impreza is ready for a show or a drive. Stripped interiors, repaired panels and parts waiting to fit are part of owning an older car.

A project with a record

The photograph shows Jamie Flett’s Type R during Speedhunters’ September 2020 workshop visit. It is a road-car-based S5 WRC-inspired project, shown here during fabrication. Our feature links Jamie’s own build journal, including a later workshop update.

Keep the small updates

Take clear photographs before and after a job. Write down what changed, what still needs work and what you learned. A planned engine swap is different from one that is installed and running.

These are 2.5RSTI’s notes for owners sharing a project. You do not need a finished car or a long parts list. Show us where your Impreza stands. Photography: Paddy McGrath / Speedhunters.
