2.5RSTI

About 2.5RSTI

It started with a Subaru wagon.

My first car was a 2006 Subaru Impreza Wagon. That was the start of it. A few Subarus later, I still find myself coming back to the classic Impreza and the GC8 rally cars that made so many of us fans in the first place.

Why I started 2.5RSTI

These cars deserve
to keep being seen.

I started 2.5RSTI as a place for classic Subaru and GC8 fans to come together. I wanted to put the cars in front of more people, share the work owners put into them, and give someone new to the scene a place to start.

The name is a nod to the Subaru Impreza 2.5RS and STI. You’ll hear people call their builds an RSTI in the community. I put my own spin on that with 2.5RSTI.

My favorite has always been the classic rally GC8. The shape, the rally history, and the different directions owners take with them keep me interested. A stock Impreza, an STI swap, or a project still in pieces can all have a story worth sharing.

My Subaru history

Three cars. Same obsession.

01 / Where it started

2006 Impreza Wagon

My first car, and the one that got me into Subaru.

02 / Going classic

1997 Impreza L

Next came a 1997 Impreza L, bringing a classic Impreza into my own Subaru story.

03 / Turning it up

2009 Impreza WRX

Then came a heavily built WRX with an E85 kit and around 400 wheel horsepower.

Keep the Classics Alive.

Keep driving them.
Keep talking about them.

For me, the reason is pretty simple: I love these cars and the community around them. I want someone who has never paid much attention to a classic Impreza to see a build here and want to know more.

Sharing a car also shares the ideas, setbacks, and people behind it. Those stories give the next owner something to learn from and the rest of us another reason to get back in the garage.

That’s what “Keep the Classics Alive.” means to me. Keep the cars out there, keep the knowledge moving, and make room for the next person who falls for a Subaru.
