The owner and the car
James’s white 1995 Impreza WRX STI Type RA Version II takes a reversible approach to rally-inspired changes. Cian Donnellan documented it in Ireland for Speedhunters in June 2021.
What went into it
The rebuilt EJ20 uses STI Spec C rods, a Link ECU and upgraded fueling. The feature reports 322 bhp, not wheel horsepower. A five-speed DCCD transmission remains.
Gold Speedline wheels sit alongside Prodrive/Alcon front brakes and KYB/Eibach suspension. The gallery includes the engine bay, wheels, interior and exhaust.
The details worth keeping
James retained the original parts when fitting carbon mirrors and a lower WRX spoiler. The Momo steering wheel had previously served in Andrew Nesbitt’s V10 WRC rally car.
