The owner and the car
Turn the sound on for Tyler Witte’s original GYMKHANA: THE GREAT GC8 film, embedded above from his YouTube upload.
Where the idea came from
In Keiron Berndt’s February 2021 Speedhunters profile, Tyler explained that the car began as a Gymkhana GRID project. When that opportunity faded, he took the build to other events.
What went into it
That profile reports a 2.5-liter engine, Garrett GT3076 turbo and 450 hp. It also lists a six-speed with DCCD and a DCCDPro controller, 4D Engineering subframes and Fifteen52 Turbomac wheels. The power figure is reported horsepower, not a confirmed wheel-horsepower measurement.
The work behind the film
The 2021 article discusses the separate Dangerzone film and its three-day shoot, including the challenge of tight spins on a grip-focused setup. Those production details should not be confused with the original film embedded here.
